This was a gift from Vickie.

I used the charted DMC 902 for the darker red and substituted 3722 for the charted 3726 which looked too brown to me.  

I also used standard size beads instead of the charted petite.  

The standard beads filled the spaces much better than the petites.  

Plus I had them in my stash and didn't have the petites!

The photo shows the original ornie as designed by Teresa and you can see I made a couple of changes!  

The fabric being the big one, I stitched on 28 count burgundy linen.  

I used the yellows as charted but changed the accent colour to DMC321 and all the backstitch to DMC's gold 5284.  

I also changed the beads to 42011 because I didn't have enough 40557 and I thought they were prettier too.

I stitched her pretty much as charted with most of the recommended CC threads.  I used Blanc for the wings and a blend of 3362/3363 instead of Desert Mesquite.

Once again I changed the backstitch to 356 for her skin and green for the dress.

I also did more of the swirls in Kreinik

12. Stitch for Syria - Gold

This is for the Concern Stitching for Syria project.  

The charity is running a Women's Centre in Lebanon and wants to make a hanging for the walls to show the women that the international stitching community is aware of their difficulties.

You sign up on the website and they send you a little chart to stitch and send the square to their London office.
