28. JBW Hobby Horse

Design by JBW called Hobby Horse
which is puzzling because it is clearly a Rocking Horse.
I stitched it using my favourite DMC 115 variegated red on 32 count Antique White linen and framed it in the perfect frame from my frame stash box.
Gift for my cousin's daughter.

75. JBW Alphabet Cat November

This is the JBW Alphabet Kitty for November, stitched on 28 count black over 1.  The theme is 5th November Fireworks Night so there are lots of splashes of bright colours and some stars in the air.  I couldn't find a firework charm or any fabric so I'm going to stitch some ray stitches on another piece of black and use that as the backing.

62. JBW Alphabet Cat September

The charm for this month is a lovely acorn pin I received from Shirlee some time ago.  The fabric is a tan 28 count evenweave and the thread is a Stef Francis variegated.  I was going for an Autumn Leaves effect.

41. JBW Alphabet Cat June

June's kitty is a patriotic red, white and blue kitty to celebrate the Queen's Official Birthday and also the 60th Anniversary of the Coronation.  The Queen's Diamond Jubilee was last year as she ascended to the throne in 1952 but it took a year to plan her coronation.

Kitty is stitched on some pale blue 28 count evenweave.  I drew an Union Jack pattern on graph paper using pencil then carefully inked in the letters in red, blue and yellow (so it would show up).  Then just stitched as usual.  The white isn't very clear and the alphabettiness isn't as obvious on this kitty but as part of the set it will look good.

I stitched the flag ribbon onto a piece of aida then used it to back the ornie.

15. JBW Alphabet Cat February

JBW cat for February's ornie.  I dyed some fabric using fruit teas, 2 bags of blackcurrant tea make a lovely strong pink.  Here is the cat on the backing fabric I used.

3. JBW Alphabet Cat January

This is one of my new monthly challenges, the JBW Alphabet Cat from JCS Hallowe'en issue 2012.  I've decided to stitch one a month in appropriate colours for that month.  So here is January's offering.

The fabric is 28 count white sparkly evenweave and the backing is a piece of ribbon stitched onto some navy 14count aida for ease of finishing and to make the design stand out more.  I'm planning to get a little snowflake charm to attach before I stitch it together.

77 - JBW Star Stunner

JBW Star from Just Cross Stitch Christmas Ornament Special 2012.
I amended the word to Stunner because that's the favourite expression of the person I sent this card to!

Stitched on 28count sparkle evenweave 1 over 1 using DMC 115.
